Analysis
 

 

Systems engineering is the foundation for every KTM Solutions technical problem. Robust design and analysis processes are applied to ensure consistency and precision of results. Our design tool of choice is Dassault Systemes CATIAv5, the premier design system of the aircraft and automotive industry.  We also use Dassault Systemes Solidworks for our clients that don't require the power of CATIAv5. Our analysts use classical static and fatigue strength methods unless proprietary analysis methods are specified by our clients. We also have the capability to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Damage and Durability Tolerance (D&DT) analyses. We also offer rapid prototyping technology so concepts can be actualized before manufacturing investment.

Analysis -
Classical analyses are performed to ensure the structural/mechanical adequacy of our designs. Analyses can be performed using your material standards and proprietary mechanical properties, or we will use standards developed for the industry. All designs receive a basic static analysis with formal documentation. Damage tolerance and fatigue analysis is also available.

Finite Element Modeling -
When more refined analysis is required, KTM Solutions will construct a finite element model (FEM) using either NASTRAN/PATRAN or ANSYS.  FEM and FEA are expensive and are only used when necessary.
